Eastleigh Football Scholarship Scheme
Boys aged 16 to 19 who are keen to
pursue a career involving football can now benefit from an exciting new
joint project announced by Eastleigh Football Club in partnership with
Eastleigh College. Eastleigh’s Football and Education Scholarship Scheme
offers an opportunity for boys who leave school this year to go on to pursue
both their academic and football potential side by side from September.
Those who successfully gain places
will study for vocational qualifications at Eastleigh College and will go to
Eastleigh Football Club three times a week for coaching and competitive
matches against other National Conference Academy sides.
Participants can continue on the
Football Scholarship Scheme for up to three years, studying for a range of
qualifications on offer including NVQs and BTEC Diplomas at levels 1, 2 and
3. Options include the Sport, Recreation and Leisure Assistants course, and
First Diploma or National Diploma courses in Sport or Public Services. In
addition the Football Scholars will receive football coaching in a
professional environment and will have the opportunity to take further
industry short courses such as FA Coaching Badges, Match Official Course,
Sports First Aid, and other courses in the areas of fitness instructing.
Young men aged 16-19 who are
interested in winning a place on the programme are invited to contact
Eastleigh Football Club on 02380 613361 or e-mail socceracdemy@eastleigh-fc.co.uk.
